Heinze: Great Honor Defend Roma

Gabriel Heinze claimed to feel honored to wear a uniform Roma, and claimed if he liked the new project Giallorossi.

Former Manchester United defender's status as a free transfer after his contract with Olympique Marseille cut, but at 33 he still felt able to give many contributions to Rome.

"It's a great honor to wear the Roman uniform and compete in Serie A, one of the most important leagues in the world," said the defender from Argentina.

"I was lucky enough to represent the big clubs in my career. Now that this challenge has come and it was readily accepted. No one had to convince me because I really want to move here."

"I have spoken with the coach and the director, so I immediately liked their plan. There is a focus on young players here, but also there is a balanced combination with experienced players," he continued.

"Players kinds Bojan Krkic and Erik Lamela want to write history with this great club. With a seasoned figure like me, is our duty to set an example for them."

"I can play as a central defender or wing defender, so it's up to the coach to decide. Cooperation with Nicolas Burdisso will be fun," said Heinze, who chose the number 5 shirt, on his compatriot.
